Check Your Filer / ATL Status

Filer status in Pakistan means one thing only: whether your name appears on FBR's Active Taxpayer List. Here is how to check it properly, and what it is worth.

Open FBR's official ATL checkere.fbr.gov.pk — official Government of Pakistan portal

How to check, step by step

  1. 1

Open FBR's official ATL verification page

Go to FBR's online verification portal. This is the only authoritative source — no third-party site, including this one, can confirm your status.

  2. 2

Choose 'Active Taxpayer List (Income Tax)'

Select the income tax ATL option from the parameter type list on the verification screen.

  3. 3

    Enter your CNIC or NTN

Individuals enter their 13-digit CNIC without dashes. Businesses and AOPs enter their NTN.

  4. 4

Pick the relevant tax year and solve the captcha

Choose the tax year you filed for, enter the captcha shown on screen and submit.

  5. 5

    Read the result

If your name appears with status 'Active', you are on the ATL and every filer rate on this site applies to you. 'Inactive' means you are treated as a non-filer.

A note on how this tool works

This page is a guide, not a live lookup. We deliberately do not call, scrape or mirror FBR systems — your CNIC should only ever be entered on FBR's own portal.

The ATL refreshes weekly, so a return filed today may not show up until the next update. If you filed late, you may also need to pay the ATL surcharge before your name appears.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if I am a filer in Pakistan?

Check the Active Taxpayer List on FBR's official portal using your CNIC (without dashes) or NTN. You can also send an SMS in the format ATL <space> your 13-digit CNIC to 9966.

How often is the ATL updated?

FBR publishes an updated Active Taxpayer List every week, usually on Sunday. A newly filed return can take until the next update to appear.

Why am I not on the ATL even though I filed?

Common reasons are filing after the due date without paying the surcharge, filing for the wrong tax year, or checking before the weekly list refreshed.

Does this site check my status for me?

No. We deliberately do not connect to or scrape FBR systems. This page shows you exactly how to check on FBR's own official portal, which is the only authoritative source.

Not on the list yet?

Our step-by-step guide walks through NTN registration, IRIS and filing your first return.
